Visa: Fiscal Q2 Earnings Snapshot

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Visa Inc. (V) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $3.65 billion.

On a per-share basis, the San Francisco-based company said it had net income of $1.70. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, came to $1.79 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.65 per share.

The global payments processor posted revenue of $7.19 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Thirteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.84 billion.
