n RSVP and Volunteer Center announces training and certification class for those wishing to assist with the Stay Active and Independent for Life (S.A.I.L.) strength and balance exercise classes for older adults. n The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is now recruiting for quality volunteers who want to help speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves, empower seniors living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult homes to ensure better quality of life and care. n Kittitas Valley Healthcare invites volunteers to serve in one of the following areas: espresso, Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to noon; gift shop, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon; patient assistance program helping patients in acquiring prescriptions, flexible hours. Help also needed in patient care, filling kitchens for patient nourishments and supplies on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; surgery outpatient desk on Tuesdays from 6:30-11:30 a.m. and bereavement volunteers to serve on call one week a month. n Youth Services is seeking volunteer mentors to work with youth once a week for one to two hours a week out in the community or during the school lunch time. Mentors must be 18 and older, complete screening, application and training process. This might include holiday crafts, game days, and fund raising.

n Kittitas County Early Learning invites volunteers 18 years and older and especially retired adults to help with their once a month event for children 0-5 years old. n FISH Food Bank has numerous volunteer openings. Available positions include: receptionist, host or hostess, grocery guide, warehouse assistant, Saturday dinner cooking and serving team, kitchen assistant, and more. Numerous shifts are available Monday-Friday. Help is also needed receiving, sorting and stocking food on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Frequency of service could be once a week, once or twice a month or once a quarter. n Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help Tuesday-Saturday for two to seven-hour time frame at their ReStore. Volunteers will help with organizing donations, cleaning store displays, assisting customers and may help maintain the book, music, tools or hardware department.
