Vegas police: Officers shoot, wound man after he points gun
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two Las Vegas police officers shot and wounded a man who allegedly pointed at gun at them after a short foot chase, a police official said.
Capt. Carlos Hank said in a video statement the incident occurred a little after 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at a mobile home park where officers responded to a report of a man with a gun.
The man ran away and then produced and pointed a handgun at the officers who Hank said “defended themselves” and shot him.
Hank did not say if the man fired any shots.
The name of the wounded man wasn’t immediately made public.
He was taken into custody and treated at a hospital for wounds not considered life-threatening, Hank said.
