Haddonfield woman gets prison for health-care fraud

A 40-year-old Haddonfield woman was sentenced Wednesday to 15 months in federal prison for her role in a health-care fraud scheme that involved the former television color analyst for the Union soccer team, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Julie Andresen, who worked for a pharmaceutical company, previously pleaded guilty in federal court in Newark to conspiracy to commit health-care fraud. Andresen admitted to receiving thousands of dollars in payments from a marketing business in return for obtaining medically unnecessary prescriptions for compounded medications. Her employer, who was not named, lost nearly $957,000 from the scheme.
