Man sought in North Carolina shooting death; 1 man charged
LENOIR, N.C. (AP) — One man is in custody and another man is being sought in a shooting death in North Carolina, a sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said Isaac McKinely Dixon, 22, is wanted on one count of murder in the shooting death of Jose David Martinez Aguilera, 25, of Lenoir.
Law enforcement officers and first responders found Aguilera dead Tuesday evening inside a car. He had suffered several gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation determined Aguilera had been shot outside a home in Lenoir.
The sheriff’s office said Zachary Nathaniel Kersey, 22, of Lenoir, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder in connection with Aguilera’s death. Kersey was arrested Tuesday morning at a Lenoir motel and is being held under a $750,000 secured bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
