Undated (AP) _ Some Hurricane Andrew statistics:

- The cost of the disaster in Florida could reach $30 billion, including the cost of relief operations and an estimated $10 billion to $20 billion for loss of property, officials said.

- In Louisiana, damage was estimated at about $400 million, including $300 million to sugar cane, corn and other crops.

- At least 34 deaths in Florida, Louisiana and the Bahamas were blamed directly or indirectly on the hurricane. Twenty-five people died in Florida, four in the Bahamas and four in Louisiana.


- Officials estimated at least 63,000 homes were destroyed. Estimates of Florida homeless ranged as high as 180,000. In Louisiana, 8,000 homes were damaged or destroyed and 25,000 people displaced.

- Power remained out to more than 600,000 people in south Florida and to 63,300 in southern Louisiana.

- President Bush mobilized 19,500 U.S. troops to join nearly 6,500 Florida National Guard troops. In Louisiana, 1,279 National Guardsmen did everything from patrol neighborhoods to cook meals and cleaning up tree limbs.
