Trucker killed when load of steel shifts east of San Diego
EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) — A trucker was killed in eastern San Diego County when his load of steel shifted and impaled him, authorities said.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 8 east of El Cajon, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The load of steel was on a flatbed trailer and shifted forward, slamming through the cab when the driver braked, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow.
The driver was not immediately identified.
