Shaheen to participate in international security forum
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire is planning to participate in an international security forum in November.
Shaheen, a Democrat, and Sen. Jim Risch of Idaho, a Republican, are leading a congressional delegation in Halifax, Nova Scotia, meeting with national security leaders from around the world to discuss strategic cooperation on common global security goals.
The group will participate in conversations on U.S. leadership and coordination with allies to address the climate crisis, the fall of Afghanistan, and other issues.
Other senators at the 13th Halifax International Security Forum include Republican John Barrasso of Wyoming; and Democrats Tim Kaine of Virginia, Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, and Chris Coons of Delaware.
The forum is scheduled for Nov. 19-21.
