Gallatin Co. pins 31st district loss on Carroll girls

Gallatin County jumped out to a big lead and closed the game on a rush to run away from Carroll County 65-34 in girls basketball Saturday in Carrollton. The visiting Wildcats outscored their hosts 15-5 in the first quarter and 21-14 in the second to take a 36-19 lead into halftime. After Carroll got a point back in the third, Gallatin closed out with a 20-5 fourth quarter to seal the District win. No Carroll County player reached double figures in scoring as Abby Evans scored eight points to lead the way and Jenna Richmond chipped in six. Kaylee Terrell scored 17 points and Jaylynn Jones had 15 to lead Gallatin County. Carroll, now 1-5 overall, fell to 1-3 in the North Central Kentucky Conference and 1-2 in 31st District play.
