Man who sexually abused toddler gets 50 years to life
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California man who sexually assaulted a toddler and posted screenshots of the attacks on a website was sentenced Friday to 50 years to life in prison.
Arthur Callender, 24, of Buena Park was convicted in April of two felony counts of sexual intercourse with a child under age 10.
Prosecutors said Callender was 20 when he repeatedly molested and raped a girl he was babysitting, who was 1 and 2 at the time.
Callender videotaped the attacks with his mobile phone, posted screenshots on a child pornography website and offered to trade the videos with other users, authorities said.
“I do not feel any amount of punishment will be sufficient for monsters like him. He stole a piece of my daughter’s innocence before she was even potty trained,” the girl’s mother said in a statement read in court by the prosecutor, the Orange County Register reported.
