Early voting ends in Cameron County

Friday marked the last day of early voting. The next time Cameron County residents can vote is Election Day, which is Tuesday.

The largest turnout during early voting has been for several proposed constitutional amendments. On Thursday, 245 people voted early. The total for early constitutional amendment votes is 1,821.

For Cameron County’s special election, in which voters are deciding whether to create a special assistance district that would use a 2 percent sales tax to fund projects in rural areas, just 30 people cast early votes Thursday. The total special election early votes lands at 232.
