Earthquake hits near southwest Augusta

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake shook the CSRA at 11:14 a.m. this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter was about 3.7 miles southwest of Augusta. The depth was 9.3 miles.
Around the time of the earthquake, Aiken Department of Public Safety received a call that a loud noise had been heard in the Woodside Plantation area.
