Documentary screening to benefit Danbury Animal Welfare Society
BETHEL - FilmFest52 will screen a documentary on “puppy mills” at 6 p.m. Wednesday to benefit the Danbury Animal Welfare Society.
The documentary, “Dog by Dog,” explores attempts to tighten regulations on commercial dog kennels, or “puppy mills,” where animals are kept in poor conditions. The film explains why this practice has continued and what people can do to stop it.
Tickets are $25 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Danbury Animal Welfare Society, an organization committed to helping animals in the area.
Admission includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, food, and a question-and-answer session with director Christopher Grimes and a panel of animal welfare experts. Following the session, Michael Bick’s Some Things Fishy Catering will cater a reception.
The event is at Bethel Cinema.
