Thousands turn out for 4th annual women’s march in Denver

DENVER (AP) — Thousands of people attended the fourth annual women’s march in Denver on Saturday.

The march started at 10 a.m. at Civic Center Park and followed a route around the state Capitol and back to the park.

This year’s march didn’t include a rally. Afterward, participants were invited to meet with local organizations to learn more about issues like reproductive rights, climate change, gun safety and voting.

The first march in 2017 drew more than 100,000 people to Denver. It was held along with others across the country on the day after President Trump was inaugurated and many participants protested Trump’s election. This year, organizers estimated the event drew around 10,000 people according to The Denver Post.

Women’s marches were also planned in Aspen, Cortez, Durango, Grand Junction, Greeley, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs and Trinidad.
