Toledo Honors Jamie Farr
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ The park where ``M-A-S-H″ actor Jamie Farr once trolled for dates and dreamed of stardom has been renamed in his honor.
``I wanted to be an actor, a famous actor, and I wanted my hometown of Toledo to be proud of me,″ TV’s Cpl. Max Klinger told about 400 admirers Sunday. ``Jamie Farr Park is certainly a highlight of my life and career.″
Farr said he used to go to the cantee in the former Riverside Park in the 1940s to meet girls, dance and brawl.
Toledo also has a park named for another hometown boy, Danny Thomas.
