TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Williams Cos. (WMB) on Monday reported second-quarter net income of $400 million.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said it had profit of 33 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 40 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 37 cents per share.

The pipeline operator posted revenue of $2.49 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.01 billion.

Williams Cos. expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.59 to $1.76 per share.
