Dino Gets Out of Hospital, But Must Leave ‘Rat Pack’ Tour
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Singer Dean Martin was released from the hospital Thursday, but his doctor ordered him to stay off the rest of the spring leg of the ″Rat Pack″ reunion tour with pals Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.
Cedars-Sinai spokesman Ron Wise said Martin left the hospital around 10 a.m. Thursday to continue his recuperation at home.
The entertainer was hospitalized Monday for treatment of what Cedars-Sinai Medical Center officials said was an old kidney ailment that flared up shortly after he, Sinatra and Davis had embarked on a reunion concert tour.
Wise said Martin’s physician, Dr. Charles Kivowitz, wants the entertainer to remain at home for three to four weeks before going back to work, however.
The tour of the so-called ″Rat Pack″ buddies, who appeared in Las Vegas and films together during their careers, will continue this month and next without Martin, but resumes July 7 in Los Angeles.
