IN THE NEWS: KANYE WEST TWEETS OUT BOGUS ELECTION RESULTS

UNDATED (AP) — It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Kanye West and his independent presidential campaign. Unfortunately for him, what we are hearing now — is pretty embarrassing. The rapper tweeted bogus election results that show him leading both President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the presidential race. But the numbers aren’t real. They’re mock data sent by The Associated Press to its customers to test its elections systems. West sent out three tweets about the made-up data. Twitter flagged them all as “manipulated media.”

IN THE NEWS: GERMAN PROSECUTORS SEARCH SOFTWARE MAKER

BERLIN (AP) — German prosecutors say authorities have searched 15 premises linked to spyware maker FinFisher. Authorities say the searches are part of an investigation into allegations that the Munich-based company broke German export laws by selling its programs to authoritarian governments. Prosecutors were tipped off to the issue by human rights groups, which claim FinFisher supplied Turkey with software that the Ankara government could use to spy on dissidents in that country. FinFisher didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

ON THE WEB: USPS TO REVERSE CHANGES THAT SLOWED MAIL SERVICE

CYBERSPACE (AP) — The U.S. Postal Service has agreed to reverse changes that have slowed mail service all over the country. The changes to the slowdown are part of a settlement filed by Montana Gov. Steve Bullock. The suit was aimed at making it possible for mail-in ballots to flow freely during the coronavirus pandemic that has forced many to vote by mail. Delayed service has also affected the delivery of medical prescriptions, payments, and job applications. While filed by Montana, the settlement of the lawsuit applies to all 50 states.

The marsupials Crash and Coco are back for more with the release of “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.” The title adds to the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy, the last installment of which came more than a decade ago. Fans can play as either Crash or Coco in their quest to save the multiverse. For those who like their gameplay on the wilder side, you can choose to play as one of the baddies in the game: Dr. Neo Cortex, Dingodile or Tawna. The title is available for the PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro — or either of the Xbox One devices from Microsoft.
