KVH buying Royal Vista building in Ellensburg
Kittitas Valley Healthcare is buying the former Royal Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 1506 Radio Road.
KVH won the building at auction earlier this spring, with a bid of $352,000, according KVH CEO Julie Petersen.
“We’re a signature away from having the title,” she said last week.
KVH hasn’t determined an exact use for the building, and will need to work with the city to determine what is acceptable, she said.
The building will not be the location of a big primary care clinic, Petersen said, and is more likely to to be used for support services, classroom and/or activity space, she said.
“We are absolutely aware of the nature of the neighborhood and the characteristics of where the building is, and we will be sensitive to that,” she said.
Prestige Care closed the building as a nursing and rehab center in 2015. At the time, the company said the outdated facility wasn’t meeting the needs of patients.
The 21,183-square-foot building sits on 1.79 acres and was formerly a 67-bed facility.
Petersen said upgrades to the building will be needed, but it is structurally sound.
