Ridgefield Playhouse: Corbin sings traditional country
Rising country star Easton Corbin is doing a concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
Corbin, who is part of the Emerging Artists Series in Ridgefield, already scored a No. 1 spot on the country charts for his debut album “About to Get Real.”
The singer-songwriter is a proponent of the traditional country sound and has a number of hit singles to his credit, including “A Little More Country Than That” and “Baby Be My Love Song.”
Corbin was part of Carrie Underwood’s 2016 The Storyteller Tour. A Florida native, the performer grew up on his grandparents’ cattle ranch, where he started singing at age four. He moved to Nashville in 2005 where an audition at a local record store landed him a spot in the annual Suwannee River Jam. That led to opening for national acts such as Janie Fricke and Mel McDaniel.
The Connecticut-based country band, Nashville Drive, will open for Corbin in Ridgefield.
Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge. Friday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. $67.50. 203-438-5795
