September 20, 2018 GMT

Jack Black stars in his latest family comedy-adventure, a movie from the “This is Us” people debuts and Michael Moore takes on the Trump era in this weekend’s new movies.

“The House With a Clock In its Walls”

This fantasy adventure is the first based on the writings of author John Bellairs and his character Lewis Barnavelt. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett star in this family film comedy.

“Life Itself”

From the creator of “This is Us,” writer-director Dan Fogelman tells the story of a couple whose life decisions, as they move from college romance to marriage and childbirth, have surprising effects on others around the globe.

“Fahrenheit 11/9”

The new Michael Moore documentary can best be summed up with a look at the movie poster: The words “Tyrant. Liar. Racist. A hole in one.” are placed above a fake image of President Trump golfing on the White House lawn.

“Assassination Nation”

This crazed teen horror-satire, inventive and super-stylish with a hard R rating, follows a group of young women as their town goes nuts.
