Get ready for a super week jam-packed with parties

Lady Gaga is headlining the Super Bowl halftime show Feb. 5. But there are plenty more superstar acts set to take stages all over the city during Super Bowl week.

Even some new stages, like the one in the NFL’s custom-built, three-tiered, traveling pop-up entertainment center, Club Nomadic, is taking shape at Sawyer Yards, 2121 Edwards, off Washington Avenue. It will host several huge concerts.

Here’s a look at some of the names and events on deck for Houston’s super week. Many more will be announced in the coming weeks. For information, visit

Opening Night:Official kick-off event featuring live music, team interviews and other fan experiences. 5:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at Minute Maid Park.

NFLX/Super Bowl Live:Ten-day fan festival encompassing several city blocks downtown and featuring live performances, fan experiences, food, drop tower and other attractions. Jan. 27-Feb. 5 around Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney.


Kids Day at NFLX:Feb. 1 at George R. Brown Convention Center.

EA Sports Party:Feb. 2 at Club Nomadic entertainment center, 2121 Edwards.

Bruno Mars:The “24K Magic” singer performs Feb. 3 at Club Nomadic, 2121 Edwards.

Super Bowl Gospel Celebration:Features NFL players, top gospel/contemporary Christian and mainstream Grammy-winning artists and special guests. Feb. 3 at Lakewood Church, 3700 U.S. 59 S.

Super Bowl Pre-Jam:All-ages event with food, games, raffles and music. With Karina Nistal, Photon Mechanics, Sons of Conquering Lion and Jenny Franck. 2 p.m. Feb. 4 at Satellite Bar, 6922 Harrisburg; 713-425-6669.

Taste of the NFL:Grand tasting event featuring food by top chefs from around the country, including The Cake Boss and Houston’s own Robert Del Grande. 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at University of Houston.

DirectTV Super Saturday Night with Taylor Swift:The pop superstar performs Feb. 4 at Club Nomadic.
