‘CBS This Morning’s’ Paula Zahn Has Baby
NEW YORK (AP) _ ″CBS This Morning″ co-anchor Paula Zahn gave birth to a baby boy ahead of schedule Saturday.
Zahn went into labor late Friday while watching ″The Late Show With David Letterman,″ and Jared Brandon Cohen was born at 5:30 a.m., said ″CBS This Morning″ spokeswoman Liz Josephson.
Zahn had worked Friday, and her baby wasn’t due until Oct. 23.
″Everything is fine; mother and son are happy as clams,″ said Josephson.
Zahn is married to Richard Cohen, a real estate investor. They have one other child, Haley, who is 4.
Jared, who was born at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces.
Coincidentally, Andrea Joyce, a CBS studio host and sports reporter and the wife of Zahn’s co-anchor, Harry Smith, also is due Oct. 23.
Zahn has not decided how long her maternity leave will be. Her immediate replacement for the next two weeks will be Giselle Fernandez.
