Six rescued from fire by medics

March 3, 2017 GMT

Sharp-eyed paramedics spotted an early morning attic fire today at a home in Fort Wayne and alerted its occupants to the danger, a news release stated.

Firefighters said the house, 434 W. Rudisill Blvd., sustained moderate damage in the 2 a.m. blaze that resulted in no injuries. Two adults and four children were unharmed. The fire was under control in about 20 minutes.

The paramedics were driving along Rudisill when they saw smoke in the area. They pounded on the home’s door to wake those inside. Red Cross worked with the displaced family to provide lodging.

The incident remains under investigation.
