No election in Polk County today, but there is one in Georgia’s 6th District

April 18, 2017 GMT

Polk County residents who are interested in the polling in today’s special election take note: you don’t get to vote on today’s ballot.

Georgia’s 6th District is holding their special election today to fill the seat held by Tom Price before he was nominated and later approved by the U.S. Senate as the new Health and Human Services secretary.

Local Board of Elections director Karen Garmon said her office has seen several people come in this morning seeking out ways to vote in the election but have been turned away since Polk County does not fall in this district, the 14th which is represented by Tom Graves.

Garmon said she appreciated the interest of voters, but that our local offices won’t be holding any balloting until later this year in municipal elections.

Those interested in the outcome of the Special Election in Georgia’s 6th district can find polling information at the Marietta Daily Journal.
