Annual shoe giveaway brings smiles to Head Start students

HARLINGEN — Ryan Barrera smiled when he found the shoes he liked with his favorite cartoon and flashing light soles.

Ryan, 4, was one of the 175 students who received a $20 gift certificate for shoes and socks from the Neighbors In Need of Services Inc. Annual Shoe Campaign.

NINOS Inc. is a nonprofit organization providing services to children and families in Cameron and Willacy counties through the Head Start program.
