April 12, 2017 GMT

Anita Schiltz, ARNP, will discuss high blood pressure during a free public presentation at the Ellensburg Adult Activity Center on April 21, according to a news release from Kittitas Valley Healthcare.

Schiltz will discuss the basics of high blood pressure, including what blood pressure numbers mean, the consequences of high blood pressure and the importance of treatment.

She also will talk about lifestyle modifications that can reduce the risk of developing high blood pressure like getting enough exercise and quitting smoking. In addition, she will outline a heart healthy diet. Research has shown that a high sodium diet can affect blood pressure.

Schiltz joined KVH Internal Medicine in September 2016. She enjoys caring for adult and geriatric patients, and most recently worked at The Polyclinic in Seattle.

The presentation will be at 11:30 a.m. To reserve a seat, call 962-7242.
