Family nutrition workshop offered for immigrant families
A one-time family nutrition workshop for immigrants will be held at Building One Community - The Center for Immigrant Opportunity (B1C) on Thursday, at 4:15 p.m. Gabriela Zea, Clinic & Community Outreach Nurse at the Hospital for Special Surgery, will lead the conversation about family nutrition and provide attendees with tips on how to choose healthier foods for their families.
Zea will return to B1C in May to teach a workshop about preventing osteoporosis and maintaining healthy and strong bones. Building One Community and Zea encourage immigrants of all ages to attend both workshops, which are free and will take place at B1C’s location at 75 Selleck St. in Stamford.
Building One Community is a nonprofit organization, established in 2011, that provides a comprehensive resource center for immigrants in the greater Stamford area.
