Wisconsin reports one virus death, 1,708 cases
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin reported 1,708 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, along with one death from COVID-19.
The state has seen a decrease in its average number of daily cases reported over the last two weeks, posting a decline of 31% according to Johns Hopkins researchers. The average number of cases reported over the last seven days was 2,390.
However, the positivity rate of tests has increased in recent days. A high positivity rate could be an indication that more people have infections than tests are showing. The Department of Health Services reported Saturday that 21% of people tested had the coronavirus.
