Man arrested after body discovered at former rest stop
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in the killing of a Providence man whose body was found in a former highway rest area, Rhode Island State Police said on Tuesday.
Jose “Chepe” Aparicio-Mendoza, 31, of Central Falls, faces one count of murder in the killing of Jose Segura.
Segura’s body was found Nov. 26 at a former rest area on Route 295 in Lincoln, police said. A medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Segura, 50, had been reported missing to Providence police on Nov. 10. He and Aparicio-Mendoza worked together as flooring installers, police said.

Aparicio-Mendoza was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday. It was not immediately clear if he has obtained an attorney.
