Las Vegas police seek suspects in separate shooting deaths

Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in a car outside an apartment complex.

Authorities say officers responded to several calls about gunfire around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday on Tropicana near Spencer Street.

Lt. David Valenta says they located a man with multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a car.

The victim’s name was not released. Police say he is 26 years old and the shooting does not appear random.

The homicide comes on the heels of another deadly shooting on Monday morning.

Police say a 49-year-old man was found shot in the doorway of a home on Castledowns Street near West Pebble Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Valenta said that shooting was initially reported as an assault involving a gun.

He says investigators are still canvassing witnesses and any surveillance video.

These incidents come after a year of a high number of homicides. Data compiled from multiple agencies in the Las Vegas area showed that law enforcement investigated 245 homicides in 2021.
