Huntington church to underline need for foster, adoptive parents
HUNTINGTON - With nearly 7,000 children in the foster care system in West Virginia, there’s no question about the need for good foster and adoptive homes.
Sunday, Aug. 19, is Foster/Adoption Sunday at River Cities Community Church (the round church on U.S. 60). River Cities will bring awareness to the needs and help parishioners determine what their next step of involvement might be.
Pastor Larry Greene will talk about “ultimate adoption” in the family of God, and there will be a live panel of people who have welcomed children into their homes to foster and/or adopt who will share a little bit about their journeys and will also answer questions.
Download the sli.do app (in the App Store, Google Play or at www.sli.do) and use the code james1-27 to submit questions to the panel. People may also write questions on 3- by 5-inch cards provided Sunday. Services are at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.
River Cities Community Church is at 4385 U.S. 60 East in Huntington. For more information, call 304-736-8197.
