Huntington St. Joe graduates 35
HUNTINGTON - For 35 seniors in the Class of 2018 of Huntington St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, Friday night marked the beginning of the rest of their lives as the close-knit Christian school hosted its 89th commencement at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Huntington.
Though it’s one of the region’s smallest high schools, the size of the graduating class served to magnify the gravity of the moment - that these young men and women who had all come to know each other deeply and many together since St. Joseph Grade School - would now be scattered to whatever life’s fortunes await them.
St. Joe’s origins can be traced back to 1872, and the school in its grade-level structure has been in operation since 1924. The school has been located at the corner of 6th Avenue and 13th Street since the 1880s, according to the school’s website.
