HUNTINGTON - The City of Huntington and its Open to All diversity campaign received the first-place award in the 50,000-and-under population category for the National League of Cities’ (NLC) City Cultural Diversity Awards Program during a conference Monday in Washington, D.C.

Designed to promote and reward inclusive policies in the nation’s cities, towns and villages, the awards program recognizes communities that have developed innovative ways of supporting diversity.

The Open to All diversity campaign actively promotes an inclusive environment for all people in the City of Huntington.

It is a product of the Huntington Mayor’s Diversity Advisory Committee. The Committee’s mission is to build communitywide relationships; to be a voice on issues of diversity and inclusion through education, communication and advocacy; and to facilitate positive change.
