Fullhart selected to attend Girls State

Sabrina Fullhart, the daughter of Dustin Fullhart and Tiffany Fullhart, of West Point has bee chosen by Unit #668 of West Point to attend the annual session of the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State to be held June 18-23 on the Drake University campus in Des Moines.

She is one of approximately 300 young women attending Iowa Girls State who have completed their junior year of high school and will study city, county and state governments and administer them according to the laws of Iowa. The girls also participate in campaigning, party rallies, debates and voting, along with learning a deeper knowledge of parliamentary procedure.


In addition to their political activities, the girls will hear from several motivational speakers, along with local and state government officials. The culmination of the week on Friday, June 23, is the inauguration of the newly elected state officials.

Fullhart attends Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Fort Madison and is involved in the following activities; cheer leading team, speech team, dinner theatre, choir, band, jazz band, the school musical and yearbook staff.

She also has a part-time job and, in her free time, enjoys all forms of music, reading books and helping others.

She plans to major in elementary education.
