Susan Crawford best for Dane County judge -- Cari Anne, Verona

I encourage voters to support Susan Crawford for Branch 1 judge in the Dane County Circuit Court on April 3.

Crawford has the work ethic, temperament and intellect to best serve the citizens of Dane County as a judge.

Crawford has spent the last 20 years serving the public interest, prosecuting felony cases, protecting our environment and defending our civil rights. We need her to spend the next part of her career on the bench to make sure our community values are reflected in the courtroom.

I worked with Crawford in former Gov. Jim Doyle’s administration and watched her in action. Her knowledge of the law is vast, and she rolls up her sleeves to determine the facts, too. I observed Crawford to be genuinely kind, reasonable, pragmatic and capable of making difficult decisions -- even when those decisions may not be popular.

In private practice, Crawford has stood up and fought for things I personally care about: the right to vote, women’s health and the support of teachers. Susan is the most experienced, best prepared candidate in the race.

That’s why I’m encouraging people to vote for Crawford on April 3.
