Thankful for the Love comedy show is tonight
Doc Love, who grew up in Kankakee, is bringing another one of his comedy shows to the Majestic Theatre in downtown Kankakee through his production company DoneWaitn.
Love, of Chicago, is hosting Thankful for the Love comedy show at 8 p.m. Saturday, featuring comedians Leon Rogers and Kenny Howell. Also on the bill are Marilee Pheneice and K-Love.
Rogers is best known for his work as a DJ at WGCI FM in Chicago. Howell is a Chicago-based comedian.
Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Majestic at 150 N. Schuyler Ave. in downtown Kankakee. A limited number of advance tickets at $15 are available at eventbrite.com. Tickets will cost more at the door. VIP tables are also available.
Most recently, Love hosted a Father’s Day comedy show in June at the Majestic and has produced several shows at the venue over the past few years.
JD and the Phuzz is playing at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Breakaway Bar in Bradley, and there’s no cover charge. It’s owner, Breakaway Bob’s 55th Birthday Bash and the music will last until about 1 a.m.
