La Crosse twins win youth business plan contest
Two La Crosse high school students won the Wisconsin YES! youth business plan contest with a proposal for matching youth with employers and volunteer opportunities.
Sophomores Christine and Elizabeth Hlavacka, who are twins, won the grand prize for their app, “WeWork.Biz.”
They will make a presentation about their app to the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Madison next week.
Just one of the 23 other finalists in the youth business plan contest was from the Madison.
Rohan Shah, a student at Middleton High School, proposed R Xessories, a personalized care plan for people with chronic diseases that provides them with a prescription refill, fitness plan and recipes.
