LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in the Las Vegas Valley of Southern Nevada.

Metropolitan Police Department officials said the bodies of a married couple were found Saturday in a Summerlin apartment.

They said it appears the man killed the woman and then shot himself days later.

Investigators say the woman reportedly was having health issues and the couple was in a financial crisis.

When nobody had seen the couple, recently, police were asked to do a welfare check.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they said the man and woman in their 50s both were found at the scene with gunshot wounds.

Police officials said they had not received any domestic violence reports regarding the couple in the past decade.

The names of the man and woman will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office along with the cause of the deaths.
