Historic shipbuilder’s home fetches $4.65M in New Hampshire
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — A home that belonged to a sea captain and shipbuilder has sold for $4.65 million in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The three-story home built by Capt. Thomas Thompson in 1784 was sold last week, the Portsmouth Herald reports.
The sale price for the elaborate home built eight years after America declared its independence from England reflects surging prices for residential homes on New Hampshire’s Seacoast.
The 5,692-square-foot, clapboard home features a rooftop deck and renovated carriage house on the property.
