Book release, signing to be held at Aiken Trials
A special early one-day release of the new book “Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Champions” will take place during the 75th Aiken Trials on Saturday at the Aiken Training Track.
Local author Lisa Hall will be at the merchandise tent from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign copies. The cost per book will be $23.75.
Hall is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the book to the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum.
The book is about the 40 American or North American champions that have spent time at the Training Track and are members of the Hall of Fame.
Those horses include Kelso, Shuvee, Pleasant Colony, Conquistador Cielo, Tom Fool and Swale.
The History Press, which is based in Charleston, is the book’s publisher.
“I am so pleased that The History Press was able to make this special release happen,” said Hall, who is the coordinator of the Hall of Fame and Museum, in a prepared statement. “Although the nationwide release date is April 10, they saw the importance of celebrating the 75th Running of the Aiken Trials in this special way.”
After the Aiken Trials, the book won’t be available until April 10.
