Aiken County high school graduations are this week at USCA Convocation Center

Local motorists might consider taking alternate routes as graduation ceremonies for Aiken County students will take place this week at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

The Aiken County Public School District will hold commencement ceremonies for its seven high schools Thursday, June 7, and Friday, June 8, in the USCA Convocation Center, located off Robert M. Bell Parkway.

Schools graduating Thursday are as follows:

• North Augusta High, 2 p.m.

• Ridge Spring-Monetta High, 5 p.m.

• Silver Bluff High, 8 p.m.

Schools graduating Friday are as follows:

• Aiken High, 9 a.m.

• Midland Valley High, noon

• Wagener-Salley High, 3 p.m.

• South Aiken High, 6 p.m.

Increased traffic on the Robert M. Bell Parkway and in campus parking lots, particularly lots at or near the Convocation Center, is expected, according to a news release from USCA.

Motorists might consider taking alternate routes those nights to avoid traffic, according to the release.
