City reschedules trick-or-treating to Oct. 31
LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Halloween in one Massachusetts city is being rescheduled to....Halloween.
Lawrence Mayor Kendrys Vasquez says trick-or-treating in the city near the New Hampshire state line had been slated for Saturday.
But with heavy rains and strong winds expected for much of the state, the Halloween tradition will be moved to Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Vasquez also implored residents to be safe while having fun. Police, he said, will be patrolling neighborhoods to ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters.
The city is also throwing a Halloween party Friday evening on the Campagnone Common that’ll feature music, ice cream, lawn games, a photo booth and door prizes.
