Faith Focus: Blessing of the Animals will be celebrated Sunday
Blessing of the Animals planned
The annual Blessing of the Animals will be held 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Assisi Heights Spirituality Center, 1001 14th St NW, in Rochester.
Join other animal lovers to celebrate the special grace that pets bring to our community. Animal whisperers will conduct the blessings in Canticle Park at Assisi Heights.
Admission is free, but a donation is appreciated.
‘Spirituality of St. Francis’ set
“My God and My All: The Spirituality of St. Francis” will be Oct. 5 to Oct. 7 at Assisi Heights Spirituality Center.
Franciscan Father Ed Shea will share insights after more than 30 years as a Franciscan following the feast of St. Francis. He has served in a variety of Chicago area parishes, including St. Joseph Back of the Yards Hispanic neighborhood.
Cost is $99 for the entire week, $60 to attend 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday only or $30 to attend 9 a.m. to noon Sunday only. Overnight accommodations are available for $45 per night.

Cowboy service is Oct. 7
SPRING VALLEY — The public is invited to a cowboy service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Cherry Grove United Methodist Church.
Cowboy church is nondenominational.
New musicians are welcome, but should contact Cindy Seabright at email@example.com or 507-272-1682 one week prior to the service, which usually is the first Sunday of the month.
Cherry Grove United Methodist Church is at 18183 160th St., in the small community of Cherry Grove in rural Spring Valley. Cherry Grove Church is handicapped accessible.
Creation Care Rally scheduled
The United Methodist Minnesota Annual Conference Creation Care ministry team will present a Creation Care Rally from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Christ United Methodist Church.
Guest speaker will be Dr. Tim Eberhart of Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
