ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed and two other teens wounded during gunfire at an Alexandria nightclub.

Trevon Washington, a former Natchez resident, died after being shot in the upper torso late Saturday night, the Natchez Democrat reported.

A 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male each had gunshot wounds to the leg and were treated at hospitals.

Larry Hooper of Natchez, who was Washington’s godfather, said Washington had gone to the club to dance and had been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“My Godchild didn’t deserve this. He was a perfect child,” Hooper said. “He loved to dance.”

A 17-year-old suspect was charged with aggravated second-degree battery, illegal carrying of a weapon and possession of a firearm by a juvenile, KALB-TV reported.
