Several hundred still without power following Maine storms
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Several hundred customers remained without power Tuesday morning following a line of strong thunderstorms that had affected Maine residents.
Central Maine Power reported about 400 outages at 7 a.m. with over 100 in Kennebec and Oxford counties, the Portland Press Herald reported. The number was more than 1,800 as of Monday night, with nearly 500 of them in Sagadahoc County.
The Labor Day storms appeared to hit Topsham and Sabattus the hardest, said Hunter Tubbs, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gray, “but up towards Bridgton there was also a good storm that moved through and towards Lewiston, as well.”
