Maryland shopping center shootout injures 2 teens, 2 adults
SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (AP) — Four people, including two teens, were seriously injured Saturday after what police described as a shootout at a suburban Maryland shopping center.
Seat Pleasant Deputy Police Chief D.T. Harris said at a press briefing that the shootings occurred Saturday afternoon at Addison Plaza Shopping Center.
Harris described the incident as “a shootout, not just a shooting.” He said investigators believe that multiple people fired shots and all of those who were shots were participants in the incident, not just bystanders.
The two teens involved were ages 14 and 15, Harris said.
The four were being treated at various hospitals and expected to survive, Harris said.
Seat Pleasant is a small city of fewer than 5,000 people located just outside Washington, D.C.
