Baltimore lawmaker announces bid for comptroller
BALTIMORE (AP) — A Baltimore lawmaker has announced she’s running for comptroller.
Del. Brooke Lierman made the announcement Thursday. The Democrat says she’s running for the office to move all residents forward with ideas that help families recover from the pandemic.
She has been a delegate representing Baltimore since 2015.
The comptroller is the state’s tax collector and serves as one of three members of Maryland’s powerful Board of Public Works, along with the governor and treasurer.
Comptroller Peter Franchot has announced that he is running for governor.
