Massachusetts police seek man for alleged online threat

CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) — Police in Massachusetts say they will seek charges against a Chicopee man who posted the phrase “put wings on pigs” on Facebook.

The phrase allegedly posted by 27-year-old Charles DiRosa is similar to an online posting made by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who authorities say killed himself after fatally shooting two New York City police officers.

A Chicopee police spokesman says the phrase is a threat “in the eyes of every police officer in America today.”

DiRosa faces a charge of threatening to commit a crime. He has not been arrested.

Police will file a complaint in court seeking a show-cause hearing. If the court determines the complaint is valid, a trial will be scheduled.

A phone number for DiRosa could not be located and he did not immediately reply to a Facebook message.
