Police: Stolen car fleeing traffic stop crashes, kills man
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A man died over the weekend after his truck was hit by stolen car that was fleeing a traffic stop, St. Louis police said.
Officials said the crash happened Saturday afternoon, when officers tried to pull over a car that had been reported stolen. Instead of stopping, the car sped off, police said.
The car later ran a stop sign and plowed into a pickup truck, according to police. The 53-year-old driver of the truck was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, officials said.
Three teens in the car ranging in age from 16 to 17 were arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Officials did not immediately release the names of the man killed or the teens arrested.
